It's yet another beautiful day in the neighbourhood boys and girls - summer in Guelph at its finest really.

Blog Guelph: Robin
Spring is a time of bountiful beauty and wonder.
I spent much of my weekend absorbing the glory and admiring Mom Nature's latest sexy show, both the visual and the soundtrack. When I unplug, get quiet and give it the time of day, the natural world is so wonderfully entertaining.
On that note, I'm quite happy to start our week off with 12 seasonal images by 11 talented Guelph Photographers - starting with Memotions stunner - 'Junior Robin waiting for breakfast'.
Best viewed while sipping a steamy cup of garden fresh mint tea with a generous drizzle of spring blossom honey from Ignatius Farm Apiary.

Blog Guelph: Do The Goose Walk
It's the last week of the lovely month of May - everywhere - but for reason's that northern hemisphere people know too well - it seems like the fair weather time is marching by at an alarming pace.

Blog Guelph: Redwing Blackbird
If the cacophony of 4am birdsong is any indication of 'birds per capita' I suspect Guelph could range in the Top Ten for Cities With Birds.
Which brings me to this burning Guelph issue: Cosmetic pesticide use.
Our friends the birds are not able to read those pesticide warning notices that appear on lawns after they've been soaked in chemical.

As you might assume or guess, the first day of spring photo contest will take place on the first day of spring.

Photographers interested in entering can submit non-commercial images of Downtown Guelph taken on March 21st, 2007 to the contest through the Guelph Flickr Group. Of course you will have to sign up for a Flickr account first, but it's free and very easy to do.

Blog Guelph: Birds of A Feather (and Hat)
Thrift store gems (or utter crap) like this are very common finds at anyone of the plethora of 'gently used' retailers in the city. At the very least these retailers help reduce the amount of trash heading to the landfill. An even better long term environmental choice would be not to make stuff like this in the first place.
